I'm developing a passion for cycle touring, so this picture is interesting. He has a Brooks Flyer saddle, and trekking handlebars. Looks well kitted out, but interesting that he has a backpack on as well!
Yes, I must admit that i thought he had a lot of stuff with him but he is probably quite strong so not a problem. My aim is to take much less stuff than this on our trip (being pretty feeble myself) but it is probably one of those things that grows when you're not looking.
I'm the french guy on hte picture. I agree with you. I sent home 8kgs one month later. It's more confortable to cycle without backpack but i use it for my macbook, camera and i think i'm enough strong to have it.
